Mt. Veeder
Our location in the Mt. Veeder AVA offers a distinct advantage, combining incredible mountain terroir, ideal soil drainage, and ample sunshine to perfectly ripen our grapes – thanks to our position on a hillside ridge top. At just 400 feet elevation and only a few miles from Highway 29, we enjoy the beauty and quality of Mt. Veeder fruit in a uniquely favorable setting. Our estate wines reflect these benefits by showcasing the elegance and structure of mountain grown wines.
Regenerative Farming
Our team is dedicated to sustainable farming that preserves and enriches the natural beauty and health the land. We're proud to have our vineyards Fish Friendly Farming certified, a reflection of our ongoing commitment to environmental stewardship. We routinely welcome Peruvian sheep herds to our estate vineyards to graze and naturally fertilize our soil, simultaneously promoting a healthy vineyard ecosystem, and reducing fire fuel.
Deep Root Irrigation
Patented technology ensures that water percolates to the roots. Zero water is lost to surface runoff or evaporation. Deep root irrigation systems bypass several challenges posed by traditional watering methods, such as evaporation and runoff, by delivering water straight to where plants need it most – their roots. This not only conserves water but also encourages deeper root growth, leading to sturdier, more drought-resistant plants. We have been at the forefront of implementing this modern, water saving irrigation practice for over 10 years, and are one of the first wineries to have installed it in all of our estate vineyard blocks.
Efficient Water Management
Efficient water management in vineyards optimizes grape quality by controlling vine stress and flavor development while reducing operational costs and environmental impact. Strategic irrigation timing enhances fruit concentration and tannin development during key growth stages, leading to more complex wines with better aging potential. Modern precision irrigation systems minimize water waste, reduce energy costs, and preserve groundwater resources while maintaining optimal soil health and microbial activity. This approach ultimately delivers more consistent grape quality, improved wine character, and enhanced long-term vineyard sustainability while supporting responsible stewardship of natural resources.
